Blueberry Lemonade

Made these amazing Blueberry Lemonade with Fresh Blueberry Syrup. It is so refreshing, sweet and has the tangy-ness required. It is simply a perfect day to cool down on a hot summer day.

I had a box of fresh blueberries last week and I wanted to make some amazing stuff out of it. I made Blueberry Pie Cookies out of them and wanted to make a drink or a jam too. Its getting hot these days, so I thought I should definitely try a drink. So when life gives you lemons you make Blueberry Lemonade. LOL…

IMG_20150329_110924-1

P.S- This Lemonade is definitely different from the conventional Lemonade…But I just had to make these.

Its mid March now… but already getting quite hot outside. You really need a drink to beat the heat during the day. My favorites for this summer have been Tendo- Coconut Water, Salted Fresh Lime Sodas, and Buttermilk. I have been avoiding soft drinks this summer because of the high amount of sugar in them and in order to avoid those unwanted calories. Though Fresh Lime too isn’t all that great but yes at least better than Cold Drinks.

P.S- The Fresh Blueberry Syrup is the start ingredient of this recipe.

Summers scream Lemons to me. Lemons are my ultimate favorite. I love drinks with lemon and mint. This drink is just one of those experiments when i wanted to infuse lemon in my drink. With a simple and homemade blueberry syrup, this drink could not get any easier. It is wonderfully fruity and sweet from the plump juicy blueberries with just enough of a tart kick. And it is really the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day.

Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie

Do you HATE oats? Eating Oats is more like a healthy option than a tasty one? What if I said, now oats are healthy and tasty too…… Try it for yourself 🙂

IMG_20150224_234118_wm

Hello Lovely Readers,

I believe most of you can relate to the phenomena that OATS aren’t tasty at all. They are more like a healthy option that you are forced to eat. At least I believed in this. Initially when I switched my breakfast to a healthy and low calorie diet, I had to switch to oats. I hated the taste. I ate it like a food supplement for my body not enjoying it at all. But gradually I developed my taste for it. This is not the case for most of you. If you don’t like it, you would probably not try it again.

My Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie is a perfect breakfast recipe. Power packed with a lot of nutrients this is the best option to start your day with. It keeps you full until lunch and really easy to make if you dont’t have much time to cook your breakfast.

P.S- Smoothies are healthy if you put in the right ingredients.

Smoothies are a really healthy option if you throw in the right ingredients. You need to cut on sugar and any other calorie adding ingredient like ice- cream, chocolate or cookies. Try make your smoothies healthy. There is a basic breakdown of how you can make your smoothies healthy and avoid adding calories to it.

IMG_20150225_000421_wm

HOW to make a healthy smoothie?

1. Choose a base: A base for a smoothie would mean what liquid are you going to add to your smoothie. Avoid using full cream milk or any other full fat base. Try using something really light and healthy for your smoothie base. You could use from a variety of options like Skimmed/Almond/Soy Milk, Fruit Juice, Coconut Water, Iced Green Tea or just plain water.

2. Add a Fruit: Fruits are a real important part of your smoothie. Choose wisely. Avoid using fruits that are too sweet. Also try using fresh fruits in comparison to the frozen ones. Combine 2 fruits to increase the health quotient.

3. Thicken Up you Smoothie: Its important to thicken up your smoothie for the right consistency /creaminess yet making it more nutritious. Again avoid using high calorie ingredients like ice cream or whipped cream to thicken up your smoothie. Choose healthy options like Nut butter, Skimmed Frozen Yogurt, Oats or Beans.

4. Flavor you Smoothie: Boost flavors of your smoothie. You could use sweetners, spices or herbs. Cinnamon is the best option as it adds a layer of sweetness plus spice, without adding extra calories. A wide variety of options that you could use are Vanilla Bean, Honey, Cinnamon, Figs, Nutmeg etc

5. Power Boost: This is the most important step. Take your smoothie to the next level by adding highly nutritive super foods. Use protein powder, vitamin powder, fish oil, unsweetened cocoa powder, ground flax seeds etc.

P.S- I hope these details help you choose wisely while making a perfect smoothie.

March is about to begin. Holi is round the corner. This post is an official start to the holi celebrations. Its is so colorful that I can’t stop looking at it. All I had in mind while presenting this and shooting this was lots and lots of colors. I hope you enjoy it.

This drink is more like an imagination and a mix match of ingredients. To my surprise it came out extremely well. I love Pomegranate Juice and have it almost daily when I am at home. I like the Fresh Homemade Juice. I find the Packed one a bit sour. What about you? So during such a regular day, I had a few ingredients right in front of me while I was at the rim of consuming my Juice..I just mixed those ingredients for fun…. but soon I realized it was the best combination ever.

Hello Lovely Readers,

Its Mid- August and yet so hot outside. Its really humid and no rain.

Summers scream Lemons to me. Lemons are my ultimate favorite. I love drinks with lemon and mint. This drink is just one of those experiments when i wanted to infuse lemon and mint together. Also to add a little twist to the flavor I have added Ginger to this drink. Ginger brings about that additional taste and also minimizes the sweetness of Lychee Juice. The amount of ginger totally depends upon your taste. But about 1 tsp of Grated Ginger is more than enough in each glass. So don’d add a lot of ginger as the drink  will get bitter. If you are not a big fan of Lychee Juice, you can replace it with either sprite or Grape Juice. But not with any other flavor. It is super easy to make. All you got to do is mix all the ingredients together and your drink is ready.

P.S- The Lychee Juice is the heart of this mocktail.

RECIPE: LYCHEE GINGER MOJITO

Makes about- 1 Glass

Prep Time- 5 mins

INGREDIENTS:

  • Lychee Juice- 200 ml
  • Mint Leaves- 7 to 8
  • Ginger Grated- 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice- 2 tsp
  • Lemon pieces- 5 to 6 (Thinly Sliced)
  • Ice Cubes- 4 to 5

PROCESS:

1. In a mixer, add mint leaves, Ginger and  Lemon Juice and mix it well.

2. In a glass, add Ice cubes, then add Lemon pieces thinly sliced, and add the mixture.

3. Now top it up with Litchee Juice.

4. Top with a few more mint leaves.

5. Serve Chilled

Your Litchee Ginger Mojito Is now Ready.
